Cambridge, Mass-- Lesley women's basketball head coach Jake Mattleman announced four student-athletes to join the Lynx program for the 2018-2019 season. The young 2018 squad is coming off a 4-22 record and fell in the first round of the NECC Championship Tournament. Mattleman will look to the four new players to bring experience and depth to his team.
"Coach Holden and I are delighted to welcome our incoming freshman class," said head coach Jake Mattleman. "These four young women possess the skills and character that match with our coaching philosophy and vision for the future of the Lesley Women's Basketball program. We cannot wait for preseason to begin working together as a team and are very excited about the upcoming season," Mattleman concluded.
Rachel Chozick comes to Cambridge from West Hartford, CT where she was a member of the Conard High School basketball team. A 5'3" point guard, Chozick played AAU basketball for CT Heat and will bring athleticism to the Lynx squad.
Wylie Coyne, a 5'11" forward from Littleton, CO will bring height in the paint for the Lynx this season. She went to Heritage High School where she averaged 10ppg and 8rpg for her team.
Kacey Johnson travels from Riverdale, GA to Lesley. A 5'8" guard and senior captain at Forest Park High School, Johnson will bring versatility to the Lynx this season.
The Lynx also welcome a fellow NECC senior transfer for the 2018-2019 season. Sarah Tobin joins the Lynx from Wheelock College where she was a three year member of the Wildcat Basketball team. The 6'2" power forward from Salisbury, MA is the reigning NECC blocks leader and her experience in the conference will impact the Lynx squad immediately.
The Lesley Women's Basketball team is looking to get back into the NECC Championship tournament and continue to build in the 2018-2019 season.
