CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Lesley University men's basketball first-year shooting guard Tavon Rhodes (Dorchester, Mass.) was named the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference earlier this afternoon. For Rhodes, this is his third weekly NAC award and second time being named Rookie of the Week.
In last week's lone game at New England College, Rhodes once again led the Lynx in scoring with 17 points on an efficient 5-9 shooting, resulting in a 79-66 win. He also grabbed three rebounds in the contest as well and has now recorded three or more rebounds in three of the last four contests.
During the year so far, Rhodes is currently ranked second in the NAC in scoring (18.0 points per game) and is first among all first-year students in the conference.
The Lynx are readying for a busy week with three road contests starting on Tuesday, December 3, at 6:00 p.m. at Fitchburg State. Lesley rounds out the week at SUNY Delhi on Friday, December 6, at 7:30 p.m. and on Saturday, December 7, at 3:00 p.m. against SUNY Cobleskill.
