HOW IT HAPPENED
- Regis came out strong on both ends of the floor, opening the game on a 9–2 run behind early buckets from Gehrig Brynda and Aamyr Sullivan. The Pride controlled the pace with tough defense, highlighted by multiple rebounds and second-chance points from Jamir Harvey, who provided a big spark throughout the half.
- Lesley stayed in it with timely shooting but Regis continued to respond, getting a boost from its bench. The Pride closed the half with a steal and layup by Devon Reid to take a 34–28 lead into the break.
- Lesley opened the second half with energy and quickly chipped away at the Regis lead, sparked by hot shooting from senior Jaxon Miles (Arlington, Texas), who knocked down multiple threes to pull the Lynx within a possession.
- Regis answered with strong finishes inside from Rob Elliott and a big three from Reid, but Lesley kept pushing, taking their first lead of the afternoon, 57-54. The game tightened from there, with both teams trading runs. Regis battled back behind Reid, who hit a clutch jumper and later buried a deep three to put the Pride up 66–65 entering the final minutes.
- Lesley tied it at the line, and the final stretch turned into a defensive battle. The second half ended deadlocked at 66–66, sending the game to overtime.
- With the game tied at 66, both teams struggled to score until Jeffrey Herbin (Watertown, Mass.) finally broke through with a jumper to put Regis ahead 68–66.
- Lesley answered at the line, but the Pride continued to control the boards and got a big mid-range bucket from Sullivan to make it 70–67.
- After the Lynx trimmed the lead, Elliott hit a clutch jumper with 31 seconds left to push it to 72–68.
- Lesley responded immediately with a three by CJ Leonard (Raynham, Mass.), cutting it to 72–71 with 22 seconds to play, but Regis stayed composed. Ned Fitzpatrick stepped to the line and calmly sank two huge free throws with 15 seconds remaining, extending the lead to 74–71.
