THE LEAD — Husson University picked up a 94-61 victory over Lesley University on Saturday afternoon in North Atlantic Conference men's basketball action at Minuteman High School.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Eagles set the tone early, jumping out to a 7-0 lead and never trailed in the contest that saw the visitors shoot 51.4% from the floor.
- An old fashion play by LU senior Jaxon Miles (Dallas, Tex.) pulled the Lynx to within two possessions at 31-26 with 7:33 remaining in the first half before Husson closed the stanza on a 15-5 blitz to take a 46-31 lead into halftime.
- The visitors opened the second half in similar fashion with a quick 5-0 start to up the lead to 20 (51-31) and never looked back, cruising to the 94-61 conference win.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Five players finished in double-figures for the Eagles including a 21-point effort by Andre McCauley.
- Miles paced LU with a team-high 18 points while Aaron Feaster (Sugar Land, Tex.) added 15 points.
- Eric Ahlers collected a double-double as an HU reserve with 10 points and a game-high 11 boards.
- The Eagles finished the game with 15 threes, going 15-for-40 (37.5%) from downtown in the win.
- In 10 meetings, Husson is now 8-2 all-time vs. the Lynx and has won the last four meetings.
UP NEXT
- Lesley is off tomorrow but returns to action on Monday, November 24 for a 6:00 PM home tilt vs. New England College.
- The Eagles are idle until Saturday, December 5 when they play host to UMPI at 1:00 PM in their NAC home-opener.
