THE LEAD — The Lynx looked to avenge their nail-biter loss the previous day as they continued their road trip through Upstate New York. Although the SUNY Delhi Broncos won their previous game, their offense left much to be desired. The Broncos did not have the same problem today, starting hot and never letting the Lynx get too close. Despite their relentless effort, Lesley fell 85-76.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-
The Lynx were the first to score, but the Broncos responded with a fifteen-point run featuring two 3-pointers all within the first five minutes of play.
-
After that, the Lynx's offense came to life and never let the Broncos add to their lead. The two teams went shot-for-shot, never letting either gain the lead too much.
-
The Broncos sank six three-pointers in the opening half that kept the Lynx always at arm's length.
-
The Broncos went into the locker room up 48-34.
-
Once again, the Lynx scored first in the half and this time maintained pace with the Broncos.
-
Delhi's onslaught of three's started to slow, and Lesley was able to slowly chip away at the deficit.
-
They were able to cut the Broncos' lead down to seven with seven left in the game.
-
The pressure started to get the Lynx down the stretch. A handful of turnovers, fouls, and missed threes sank the team's hopes.
-
The early game run by the Broncos turned out to be insurmountable; the final score was 85-76.
