THE LEAD —  The Lynx came into their final weekend of the regular season hot off a win earlier in the week. The Broncos went into the game looking for a win after a rough weekend. Both teams went shot-for-shot to open the game, but a huge run in the opening half gave the Broncos a lead that no matter how hard the Lynx tried, they couldn't overcome

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Broncos started the game off hot, hitting a three immediately after tipoff.

  • The Lynx answered right back when Jarod Johnson hit a tree of his own.

  • Both teams continued to trade baskets. They found themselves tied up six times in the opening nine minutes.

  • After being tied at 21, the Broncos went on an 18-4 run that ate up a huge chunk of the opening half.

  • The Lynx bounced back and returned to trading shots with SUNY Delhi. They finished the first half down 18.

  • Coming out of the locker rooms, the Lynx continued to fight, hitting big shots.

  • They spent the second half slowly chipping away at the Broncos' lead.

  • However, Delhi's offense was unstoppable; it took the entire second half for the Lynx to catch up.

  • But the lead was insurmountable as the Lynx ultimately fell 97-86

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • CJ Leonard led the Lynx with 28 points and tied the team high of rebounds with seven and tied the high with four assists. 

  • Ryan Ellis stood out on the other side of the ball. He led the Lynx in blocks with two, tied the team high with seven rebounds, and accounted for two steals, another team high.

  • For the Broncos, Jason Tagios almost put up a double-double. He scored 17 points and grabbed nine rebounds.

  • The Broncos' 97 points ties their season high records (97-73 win over VTSU Johnson)
