Cambridge, Ma - A member of both Lesley men's and women's basketball teams have been named to the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Sportsmanship Team honors, as announced by the conference earlier this week.
Leila Chisholm represents Lesley for the first time in her collegiate career.
Chisholm's senior season was the best of her career. She led the team in points with 269 and steals with 61. She ranked in the top 100 in the country for both steals (84th) and steals per game (76th). She led the Lynx in field goal, three-point, and free throw percentage. She also ranked 37th in the nation in minutes played per game.
She helped lead the team to a 4-21 record and went 2-16 in NAC play, Lesley's second-best finish in the conference.
For the men's team, Sean Chanakira was named to the Sportsmanship Team for the first time in his career.
On the court, the senior played in 13 of the Lynx's games and started in one. A transfer from Great Bay Community College, Chanakira instantly became a leader in the locker room. He led the team in assists in two of those games and steals in one.
The Lesley men's basketball team went 4-21 and 4-14 in NAC matchups, the team's best finish in the conference, thanks to the efforts of Chanakira.
