Bota Carbonell Named NAC Men's Golf Player of the Week

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Junior Marc Bota Carbonell (Mallorca, Spain) has been named the North Athletic Conference (NAC) Men's Golfer of the Week, it was announced by the NAC Office for matches played between August 29 – 31. This marks the first time a Lesley golfer has earned NAC Golfer of the Week honors since becoming a varsity program. The Lynx earned Rookie of the Week honors twice last year in their inaugural season (Jeremey Ouellette and Patrick Teasdale).

Bota Carbonella opened his Lesley career with a strong showing at the SUNY Delhi Bronco Invitational, firing a new program record-low round of 73 (+1) including a 32 (-4) on the back-nine with five birdies to finish in a three-way tie for second, just one stroke behind the medalist. The next day, the junior transfer got off to a slower start, playing the first five holes at +3 before shooting one-under par through the final 13 holes including a pair of birdies on the 15th and 17th holes to secure medalist honors in the clubhouse with a 72 (+2) to lower his own single-round program record.

The Spainard is the first player to claim medalist honors for Lesley as well as record five birdies in the same round during match play.

His solid play helped the Lynx post team scores of 316 and 317, respectively, marking the two lowest team totals to date.

The Lynx return to tournament play until Monday, September 8 when they'll head to Jay, Vt. For the 2025 Lou Jarvis Invitational hosted by VTSU Johnson at Jay Peak CC.
