THE LEAD – Thomas College scored a pair of goals in each half on Saturday afternoon to cruise to a 4-0 victory over host Lesley University on Saturday afternoon in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) men's soccer action at Minuteman Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Terriers hit the ground running, with David Ivarsson finding Shafi Ibrahim, who scored to make it 1-0 after five minutes.
  • In the 16th minute the Lynx had an opportunity to tie things up, but the effort went wide.
  • Just five minutes later the Terriers took a bigger advantage, with Ivarsson finding Ibrahim again to make it 2-0.
  • The Terriers continued to control the half, going into halftime up 2-0.
  • In the second half the Terriers continued to pile on pressure, and that pressure paid off in the 53rd minute when Tre Burgess found Ivarsson, who scored to make it 3-0.
  • In the 72nd minute Ivarsson earned his third assist of the game, finding Micky Woodrow to make it 4-0.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

  • Thomas outshot the hosts 34-12 and held the advantage in corners, 6-1.
  • Lynx goalkeeper Aiden Hendricks (Richmond, Va.) made a career-high 13 saves in the setback.
  • James Fischer made four saves in a shutout victory for TC.

  • Prior to the start of the match, the Lesley University athletic department honored the six senior members from the program in Adrian Esparragoze (New York, N.Y.), Paul Adebowale (Basingstoke, United Kingdom), Aidan Stafford (Westford, Mass.), Mile Brajdic (Atlanta, Ga.), Yik Ka Lam (Hong Kong, China), and Nick Wadleigh (Glastonbury, Conn.) in a Senior Day ceremony.
