THE LEAD – In addition to getting the results and help they needed, Lesley University took care of its own business Saturday afternoon in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) men's soccer action vs. VTSU Lyndon, picking up a 7-0 win to secure a berth in the 2025 NAC postseason tournament later this week.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Senior Nick Wadleigh (Glastonbury, Conn.) opened the action heading in a corner from Wassim Chaib (East Boston, Mass.) to give LU the lead just 1:13 into the match.
  • A Lyndon own-goal made it 2-0 in the 15th minute before senior Yik Ka Lam (Hong Kong, China) scored his first collegiate goal in the 22nd minute to give Lesley a 3-0 advantage, proving to be the halftime score.
  • Chaib stayed hot, finishing for his fifth goal of the week at the 54:05 marker to move the score to 4-0.
  • Junior Marc Kenny Derac (Waltham, Mass.) scored back-to-back goals to make it 6-0 before senior Miles Brajdic (Atlanta, Ga.) capped the scoring in the final minute to account for the 7-0 final.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

  • Lesley owned a 36-6 advantage in shots in addition to a 13-1 cushion in corners.
  • Chaib finished the game with four points on a goal and two assists.
  • The score for Brajdic was the first of his collegiate career.
  • Tyler Fortin (Farmington, Conn.) and Adiel Menjivar (Lynn, Mass.) also had assists in the win.
  • LU senior keeper Aiden Hendricks (Stafford, Va.) earned the win making three saves in the first half before sophomore Josh Angulo-Gonzalez (Malden, Mass.) made one second-half save to combine for the shutout win.
  • The VTSU Lyndon keeper combo of Parker Pierce and Joe Buchanan combined for 14 saves.

OF NOTE

  • The Lynx secured the No. 6 seed in the 2025 NAC Men's Soccer Tournament ending the regular-season with a 2-4-3 mark for nine points. Lesley entered the day needing to win their contest in addition to getting losses from UMaine-Presque Isle, VTSU Johnson and SUNY Cobleskill and all three programs fell in their regular-season NAC finales to allow the LU to jump three spots in the standings on the day when it mattered most.

UP NEXT

  • Lesley will head to No. 3 SUNY Delhi for Quarterfinal match on Wednesday, Oct. 29 at 6:00 PM in Delhi, N.Y. During the regular-season, the sides played to a 1-1 draw back on September 27 during a match played in Lexington, Mass. on Lesley's home field.
