THE LEAD – The Lesley University men's tennis team started its 2026 campaign at Norwich University. They were swept in the first match of their day but improved to 2-5 in the second.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Doubles (Match 1):

Singles (Match 1):

  • Leading off singles action for Lesley, Treanor fell 6-0, 6-0.

  • The second spot saw Locke take part but ended up with a 6-0, 6-0 defeat.

  • In singles three, Spirito was downed 6-1, 6-0.

  • Despite falling in the four-spot, Wasserman put up the match's best performance, going 6-3 & 6-1

  • Nicol found himself at the fifth spot in singles but was defeated 6-1, 6-1.

  • Finally, in the last singles spot of the first match, Ouellette fell 6-1, 6-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED 

Doubles (Match 2):

  • Leading off doubles in match two, the pairing of Ouellette and Treanor fell 6-0 in the opening matchup.

  • In the second spot of doubles, Nicol and Spirito were defeated 6-2. 

  • The last pairing of doubles saw Wasserman and Locke downed 6-4.

Singles (Match 2):

  • Leading off singles action for Lesley, Spirito was defeated 6-1, 6-1.

  • The second spot saw Treanor fall 6-2, 6-0

  • In singles three, Wasserman was defeated 6-4, 6-1

  • Despite falling in the four-spot, Locke fell 6-2, 6-1

  • Nicol secured the first win of the season for the Lynx, going 6-1, 3-6, & 10-3

  • Ouellette also took a home a win with 7-5, 0-6, & 10-4

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

  • Ouellette secured his first collegiate career on his first day of competition

  • Ouellette, Spirito, Treanor, and Wasserman all made their college debuts

  • With today's wins, the Cadets are tied for the lead in the Empire 8 and second overall in the conference

  • Lesley will head to VTSU Johson to take on the Yellowjackets on Saturday. April 11.
