THE LEAD – After falling in both matches yesterday at VTSU Lyndon, the Lynx were hungry for their first win of the season. The first match was competitive, with the Lynx escaping with their first win, 4-3. The rain forced the second match to be moved indoors. Lesley benefited as they put on a dominant performance, 7-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Doubles (Match 1):

• In the first doubles spot, Thomas Nicol and Hunter Treanor fell 6-3

• The second pairing in doubles, Reuben Wasserman and Jeremy Ouellette, won 6-1

• Finally, the three spot in doubles saw the pairing of James Ontiveros and Bennett Locke secure a 6-3 win

Singles (Match 1):

• Leading off singles action for Lesley, Nicol fell in a competitive match. He won set 1, 7-6, but then lost 6-4 and 11-9.

• The second spot saw Ouellette take part but ended up with a 6-4, 1-6, 6-1 win.

• In singles three, Wasserman was downed 6-3, 6-4.

• Treanor won dominantly 6-3 and 6-0

• Ontiveros found himself at the fifth spot in singles but was defeated 6-2, 4-6, 13-11.

• Finally, in the last singles spot of the first match, Locke won 6-2, 6-1

HOW IT HAPPENED 

Doubles (Match 2):

• Leading off doubles in match two, the pairing of Nicol and Ouellette won 6-2 in the opening matchup.

• In the second spot of doubles, Wasserman and Treanor were victorious 6-1. 

• The last pairing of doubles saw Locke and Ontiveros win via default.

Singles (Match 2):

• Leading off singles action for Lesley, Nicol grabbed the 6-3, 6-3 win..

• The second spot saw Ouellette win dominantly 8-4

• In singles three, Treanor was victorious 6-2, 2-3 retirement

• Wasserman dominated in the four slot, 6-1, 6-1

• Ontiveros won via retirement but scored 6-3, 5-4

• Finally, in the last singles spot of the first match, Locke won 8-1

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

• Today's second match was the first time the Lynx have swept since April 2018

• Wasserman recorded his first career doubles win in Match 1 and his first singles win in Match 2

• Ontiveros and Oullete both recorded their first singles and first doubles wins of the season today, while Locke secured his first doubles win

• Lesley will host the SUNY Delhi Broncos for two matches on Saturday April, 18. The match is set to start at noon.
