THE LEAD – The Lynx looked to get a couple of wins as they hosted their first pair of matches this season. Despite some very competitive match-ups, Lesley fell in both 0-7 and 1-6.


HOW IT HAPPENED

Doubles (Match 1):

Singles (Match 1):

  • Leading off singles action for Lesley, Nicol fell in a competitive match. He lost 6-1, 6-0, 7-6.

  • The second spot saw Wasserman take part but ended up with a 6-3, 7-5 loss.

  • In singles three, Treanor was downed 6-1, 6-1.

  • Ontiveros fell 6-4, 6-2 in the number four spot.

  • Locke found himself at the fifth spot in singles but was defeated 6-1, 6-0.

  • Finally, in the last singles spot of the first match, James Marotta lost 6-1, 6-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED 

Doubles (Match 2):

  • Leading off doubles in match two, the pairing of Wasserman and Treanor fell 6-4 in the opening matchup.

  • In the second spot of doubles, Nicol and Locke were defeated 6-4. 

  • The last pairing of doubles saw Ontiveros and Marotta lose in a close 7-5.

Singles (Match 2):

  • Leading off singles action for Lesley, Nicol was bested 6-3, 6-1.

  • The second spot saw Wasserman get the Lynx's sole win, 6-1, 7-5.

  • In singles three, Treanor was defeated 6-1, 7-6.

  • Ontiveros could not get the win as he fell 6-4, 6-1.

  • Locke fought hard but was ultimately defeated 6-4, 6-1.

  • Finally, in the last singles spot of the first match, Vasconcelos took the 6-0, 6-1 defeat.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

  • Marotta made his collegiate tennis debut in match 1.

  • With these wins, SUNY Delhi clinched a spot in the Empire 8 Postseason Tournament Berth.

UP NEXT

  • Lesley will host Thomas College tomorrow at 1 PM at the DuPont courts.

  • The Broncos will finish their regular season tomorrow as they head south to take on Curry College.
