THE LEAD – The Lesley University cross country program wrapped up the 2025 campaign on Saturday morning racing in the NCAA Division III New England Championship – East Regionals meet hosted by Suffolk University at the Hopkinton, N.H. Fairgrounds
LESLEY HIGHLIGHTS
- On the men's side, senior Zephaniaya Alvarado (Manhattan, N.Y.) was the top Lesley racer with a 28:22 showing, good for 136th overall in the field of 220 racers
- First year's Prince Calhoun (Woburn, Mass.) and Jonathan Le Maitre (Easton, Pa.) clocked in at 29:37 and 31:24 with solid showings, finishing in 162nd and 189th, respectively.
- Sophomores Liam McNeil (Hudson, N.H.) and junior Bendjy Auguste (Medford, Mass.) rounded out the LU racers with McNeil posting a 206th place finish while Auguste came in 208th overall.
- Sophomore Rebecca Hall (Richmond, Vt.) was the only female competitor for Lesley, finishing in 134th in the field of 216 with a time of 25:41.
WINNING PERFORMANCES
- MIT earned the team win on the Men's side, ahead of Tufts University who finished second in a tight 42-49 score. Fitchburg State's Paulino Guevara Mateo took home the individual win with a time of 24:32, one second ahead of Tuft's Amokrane Aouchiche (24:33).
- Despite MIT having the top two runners in the field in Kate Sanderson and Rujuta Sane finished 1-2, the Engineers placed second overall in the team standings as Tufts University edged out their neighbors in a 51-61 showdown for the top squad in the region.
