NASHUA, N.H. - The Lesley University softball team played a double header against Daniel Webster College on Saturday and continued to play well against New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) opponents by sweeping the Eagles. The Lynx improved to 9-6 (6-0 NECC) on the season.
Game One
Lesley scored in every single inning of the first game of the double header to win 10-2 in seven innings.
Alyson Durben (Stow, Mass.) went 2-for-4 with two runs batted in and a run scored to lead the Lynx. The sophomore his two RBI singles in the fourth and seventh innings.
Lani Cabral-Pini (Wilmington, Mass.) had three hits and crossed the plate twice in her return to the field after an ankle injury earlier in the week.
On the mound, Alicia Burnett (Gulf Breeze, Fla.) got the job done with a complete game victory, her fifth of the season. Burnett scattered eight hits and gave up two runs in the game, but struck out eight Eagles in victory.
Game Two
Cassandra Knox (Sea Cliff, N.Y.) breezed through five innings on the mound, giving up just one hit and striking out four batters as the Lynx won 13-0 in game two.
Leading the offense for Lesley was Jenna Fralick (Woburn, Mass.) who went 2-for-3 with four runs batted in. The freshman hit two-RBI singles in the first and third innings hitting out of the eight spot in the order.
Jodi Fralick had three hits on the game resulting in three runs batted in. The junior catcher also added two more stolen bases to her total on the day.
Third baseman Sarah Wilson (Lowell, Mass.) tallied two RBI and two runs scored in the game and first baseman Georgia Saltzman was solid with three hits in four trips to the plate.
The Lynx next play on Sunday, April 5 against tough non-conference opponents Emerson College and Babson College.
