CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The New England Intercollegiate Softball Coaches Association (NEISCA) honored Lesley junior Jodi Fralick (Woburn, Mass.) by naming her to their Honorable Mention squad for the 2009 Division III All-Star Teams.
Fralick helped to lead the Lynx to their second consecutive conference championship by winning the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) title earlier this spring. The catcher was a force at the plate on the final day of the championships going 7-for-10 with four runs scored, two runs batted in, and three stolen bases. Lesley would win all three of their games, two in the come-from-behind fashion.
The NECC also honored Fralick for her tremendous season with Second Team All-Conference honors. Fralick batted 0.430, with 39 runs, 39 RBIs, and 27 stolen bases. She hit 12 doubles, a triple, and a homerun in 41 games this season.
With their conference championship and a 27-14 (15-1 NECC) record, the Lynx earned a bid in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) tournament for the first time in program history. They received the #5 seed in the tournament and faced #4 seed Western New England College, but were defeated 2-0.
Lesley's participation in the ECAC tournament marked the second season in a row that the team had earned the right to play in additional post-season games following a conference championship as they played in the NCAA Regional Tournament in 2008.
