HOW IT HAPPENED (GM 1)
- Lesley had a chance to get on the board first in the top of the first after a Leah St. John (New Ipswich, N.H.) single and Emma Hodgkins (Raymond, N.H.) kicked things off. However, Thomas starter Megan Oberholzer retired the side to escape the early jam.
- In the bottom half of the frame, Thomas made sure to get on the board early thanks to a five-run inning. Mackenzie Toner highlighted the scoring that inning after a two-run RBI single that made it 2-0 at the time.
- The Lynx once again had a chance to put runs on the board in the second after Sydney McAvoy (Billerica, Mass.) and Madalynn Biagi (Lincoln, Calif.) singles came with two outs. Unfortunately, Oberholzer would go onto force a ground out to keep the Thomas lead at five.
- From then on, the Terriers offense continued to tack on another run for the next three innings which then put the hosts ahead 8-0 after four and ultimately resulting in a run rule win.
