THE LEAD - As the regular season comes to a close, the Lynx are on the outside of the playoffs, but there's still hope. Finishing out their last home stands with a pair of wins is exactly what they need. In game one, they got out to a big lead early, thanks in part to a 3-run homer from Leah St. John. They were able to ride the lead to their second win of the season. A 13-5 triumph in 5 innings. Then in game 2, the Hornets were the first to strike, but Lesley stayed determined and secured the sweep with a 7-2 win.
HOW IT HAPPENED (Game 1)
-
Isabella Moscoso started the bottom of the first with a double. She then stole third, and a single to left from St. John got the Lynx on the board early. They weren't done yet. Madison Herbert hit into a fielder's choice and scored another run. She then stole second, and a single from Lauren Martin brought her home.
-
The Hornets responded by putting up four in the second and taking the lead.

The Lynx wasted no time getting it right back. Lily Wright reached on an error, and Marissa De La Rosa was hit by a pitch. Moscoso popped up to move the runners up, and St. John doubled to retake the lead. Thomas then singled to score another. Herbert singled to put runners on first and second. Then Martin singled for another RBI.
