THE LEAD— The Colby-Sawyer women's basketball team picked up their first win of the season against Lesley University at the Hogan Sports Center on Sunday, topping the Lynx by a final score of 81-44.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Nine points from Lauren MacDonald (Tilton, N.H.) helped the Chargers to a 25-13 lead after the first quarter.
- Emily Leonard (Chester, N.H.), Tanner Drury (Bethel, VT.), and Delaney Raymond (Lyndon, VT.) each hit a three in the second quarter as the chargers would enter the halftime break ahead 46-25.
- The Chargers continued to be strong in the third quarter, as MacDonald would score the first four points of the half. Taylor Fellows (Croydon, N.H.) and Raymond would each make a three, to help the Chargers to a 63-30 lead with one quarter to go.
- Lesley senior Madalynn Biagi (Lincoln, Calif.) scored six quarters in the final frame but Leonard hit two threes in the quarter, as the Chargers would go on to win the game 81-44.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Leonard led the team in points with 18, as she also went 4-5 from three-point range.
- Fellows led the team in steals with four and put up 11 points during the win.
- MacDonald scored 13 points and had five rebounds on Sunday.
- LU sophomore Abbie Price (Waco, Texas) paced the Lynx with a team-high 11 points on 4-of-6 shooting, going perfect from the line (2-2) and from behind the arc (1-1).
UP NEXT
- Lesley hits the road on Wednesday, Nov. 12 for a 5:00 PM non-conference affair vs. Mitchell College in New London, Conn.
- The Chargers will travel to Hanover, N.H. on Wednesday to play Division I Dartmouth College at 6:00 PM for an exhibition game.
