THE LEAD — The Lynx headed up to Maine in search of their first win of the New Year. The Beavers had hopes of continuing their win streak. After a back-and-forth opening quarter, UMaine started to run away. The Lynx were not deterred but were no match for the Beavers. The Beavers' win puts them tied for first place in the NAC.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Beavers scored immediately, but Savannah Gravitt hit a three to give the Lynx their first lead.

  • Umaine responded by hitting a three-pointer of their own and going on a seven-point run, until once again Gravitt sank another three-pointer.

  • Lesley slowly made their way back, ending the first quarter down two.

  • The Beavers' usual offense started to wake up in the second, quickly turning their lead up to 12.

  • In the final stretch of the first half, the Lynx put up nine points within two minutes.

  • Farmington did not slow down, though, ending the half 37-23.

  • The third was the wall Beavers. They put up 22 points for the second consecutive quarter and only allowed the Lynx to score five.

  • UMaine hit the brakes in the fourth. With their goal of running out the clock, neither team showed much offense.

  • The Beavers got the 66-37 win
