THE LEAD – Junior midfielder Marissa De La Rosa (Phoenix, Ariz.) scored bookend goals to power the Lesley University women's soccer program past Massachusetts Maritime Academy, 4-0, on Tuesday evening for their first win of the 2025 campaign.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- De La Rosa opened the scoring just five minutes into the contest for her first goal of the night coming off an assist by sophomore Elsie Koehler (Portland, Ore.).
- Koehler was the next LU goal scorer, depositing a pass from senior Zoe Curtaz (Novato, Calif.) at the 33:50 marker to double the visitors lead to 2-0.
- Lesley outshot the Bucs in the opening stanza by a 24-2 margin, holding the 2-0 edge at the halftime break.
- The Lynx struck early in the second half to open up a 3-0 advantage on the first career goal by junior Milana Rosazza (Denver, Colo.) as sophomore Maya Spatafore (Perth, Australia) set up the play with a nifty dime in the 50th minute.
- De La Rosa closed the action with her second of the night on an unassisted marker with 3:29 left in regulation to account for the 4-0 Lesley final.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Lesley outshot MMA by a 46-2 margin, including an 22-0 difference in the second half. The Lynx also owned an 11-0 edge in corners on the game.
- First year keeper Lloy Bartolotti (Portland, Ore.) earned her first career victory and shutout in her collegiate debut, making one save for the clean sheet.
- Mariana Lefco put together a 16-save outing for the Buccaneers and falls to 0-1 in between the pipes.

- Lesley has an eight-day layoff and does not return to the pitch until Wednesday, September 17 for a non-conference match at Suffolk University at 7:00 PM
- The Buccaneers host Bridgewater State in conference play on Friday, September 12th, at 7:00 PM.
