THE LEAD – Five different players found the back of the net to propel Lesley University past the University of Maine – Presque Isle, 5-0, Sunday afternoon in North Atlantic Conference women's soccer action. The victory was the 250th for Head Coach Paul Vasconcelos with the LU women's soccer program.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Lynx got first half goals from Leecy Cruz (San Antonio, Texas) and Desire Lopez (Ventura, Calif.) to open and close the half as Cruz opened the scoring in the sixth minute while Lopez found the back of the net in the 35th to give the visitors a 2-0 lead heading into halftime.
- Ella Stanley (Allyn, Wash.) got into the action with her first collegiate goal in the 53rd minute to move the score to 3-0 before senior Kylie Chagnon (Framingham, Mass.) made it 4-0 in the 85th minute.
- First year Gretel Davis (Yorba Lindo, Calif.) ended the day with her first collegiate goal in the 89th minute to account for the 5-0 final.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Cruz finished the day with four points, adding two assists on the Stanley and Chagnon markers.
- First year Jenna Chalpowski (Eatontown, N.J.) picked up her first collegiate point assisting Cruz's goal while Elsie Koehler (Portland, Ore.) also picked up an assist in the first half.
- Lesley outshot UMPI by a 42-2 margin Sunday afternoon.
- First year Lloy Bartolotti (Portland, Ore.) made one save to earn the shutout and improve to 2-0 on the year.
- Vasconcelos becomes the 38th active Head Coach at the NCAA Division III level on the women's side to reach the 250-win plateau.
- Of the 38 active D-III Women's Soccer Head Coaches with 250+ wins, Vasconcelos ranks 10th overall in winning percentage at .739 (250-80-26).

- Lesley returns to action on Wednesday, Sept. 24 against No. 12 Brandeis University for a 7:00 PM kickoff in Waltham, Mass.
