THE LEAD – Junior midfielder Bethany Slivka (Berkley, Mass.) registered five points on a goal and three assists to power Lesley University past UMaine Farmington, 4-0, Saturday afternoon in NCAA Division III and North Atlantic Conference women's soccer action.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Slivka facilitated the first two goals of the match via corner kicks, setting up sophomore Elsie Koehler (Portland, Ore.) and senior Rachel Weinzimer (Woodland Hills, Calif.) in the 22nd and 37th minutes of the first half.
- LU outshot the Beavers 17-3 at the break and owned a 5-1 edge in corners heading into the second stanza.
- Senior Kylie Chagnon (Framingham, Mass.) found the back of the net in the 60th minute as Slivka slotted a ball through the UMF backline for the easy finish to make it 3-0 with a little over 30 minutes remaining.
- Chagnon returned the favor to Slivka in the 68th minute, providing a nice through ball before the midfielder deposited the fourth and final goal of the afternoon to account for the 4-0 final.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Senior keeper Madison Reed (Burlingame, Calif.) earned the shutout victory making a pair of saves for Lesley. The clean sheet is her third of the year and 13th of her career.
- Paige Gonya was solid in net in the setback, making 12 saves for the Beavers.
- Lesley outshot UMF by a 28-4 margin and finished the game with a 9-2 advantage in corners.
- The Lynx have not allowed a goal during the 2025 season at home during NAC play (270 minutes).
