HOW IT HAPPENED (Match 1 vs. AMC)

  • The Falcons raced out to a 10-2 cushion before using a 5-0 flurry to double up the Lynx at 20-10 to hold on for a 25-14 opening set win, hitting .345 as a team in the frame (14-4-29).
  • The Lynx played their best set of the season in the middle frame, leading 21-19 following a service ace by Korinne Hall-Johnson (North Brunswick, N.J.). AMC answered with four straight points to flip the lead to 23-21. A kill by Alawnah Dunda (Fort Ann, N.Y.) extended the action to keep it a one-point affair at 24-23 before Nyanna Richards kill gave the Falcons the 25-23 win.
  • LU could not recover from the second set as Albertus charged out to a 10-3 lead in the final stanza, never looking back in the 25-15 final.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS (Match 1 vs. AMC)

  • Sophomore Abbie Price (Waco, Texas) collected a team-best seven kills for LU while Hall-Johnson and Dunda each had four.
