THE LEAD — Bay Path University posted a 3-0 (25-19, 25-15, 25-19) win over Lesley University in non-conference collegiate women's volleyball action Sunday afternoon at Minuteman High School.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • A 9-1 flurry early in the action gave Bay Path a 14-4 cushion that the visitors road out to a 25-19 opening set victory
  • Anastasiya Tsetsko served up four aces during an 8-0 run that listed the Wildcats to a 22-9 advantage in the second set before the Lynx clawed back into the action. Lesley closed the set on a 10-2 blitz but it wasn't enough in a 25-19 final.
  • The Lynx carried that momentum into the third racing out to a 4-0 lead highlighted by an ace from junior setter Mariah Febo (Boston, Mass.). Rayann Fatahi (Arlington, Mass.) served up an ace two points later to keep Lesley in front 6-2 before Bay Path regrouped with 11 straight points to surge ahead 13-6 behind the service game of Shanayah St. Phard who delivered four aces in the stretch. Lesley was unable to recover as the visitors held on for the 25-19 win to complete the 3-0 sweep.
