THE LEAD — Fisher College pick up a 3-0 (25-11, 25-19, 25-7) win over Lesley University in non-conference collegiate women's volleyball action Tuesday evening at Pappas Gym.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Lynx leaped ahead to an early 4-1 lead following kills from Alawnah Dunda (Fort Ann, N.Y.), Estephany Morales (New York, N.Y.) and Shae Thomas (Clayton, N.C.) before the Falcons settled in and eventually closed the set on a 14-3 blitz to take the action, 25-11.
- The sides played tight early in Set 2, trading points to a 6-6 score before Fisher took the lead for good following an ace by Valeria Soto. Lesley kept it close but was unable to equalize as the hosts picked up a 25-19 win in the frame.
- Fisher controlled the action in Set 3 and after a Dunda kill made it a 16-7 score, the Falcons rattled off nine consecutive points behind the service game of Alondra Farinacci to seal the 25-7 victory and sweep of the match.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Jeiris Velez collected a match-high 15 kills while hitting .375 to go along with 12 digs in a strong effort for Fisher. Natalia Ramirez added 11 kills while Farinacci dished out 34 assists to go along with 11 digs and three aces.
- Thomas paced LU with a team-high five kills, adding six digs and one assist.
- Sophomore Korinne Hall-Johnson (North Brunswick, N.J.) tallied 12 digs, one kill, one ace and one assist. Junior Mariah Febo (Boston, Mass.) added 13 assists and five digs for the Lynx.
- The Falcons hit a combined .330 as a team compared to the Lynx coming up short with a .081 clip.

- Lesley opens up its 2025 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) schedule on Friday, Sept. 26 at Thomas College for a 7:00 PM battle.
- Fisher heads to UMaine Fort Kent for a doubleheader on Saturday, Sept. 27 scheduled for a 1:00 PM start time.
