THE LEAD — SUNY Cobleskill snapped an eight-match losing skid on Saturday afternoon, defeating Lesley University, 3-0 (25-13, 25-16, 25-18) in NCAA Division III and North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Women's Volleyball action at Iorio Gymnasium.  

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Tigers set the tone for the match with four points out of the jump followed by a 7-0 run fueled by four aces from Emma Hinze to power past the Lynx in set 1, 25-13.
• An ace by junior Mariah Febo (Boston, Mass.) and a kill from junior Rayann Fatahi (Arlington, Mass.) helped LU race in front to a 4-0 advantage in set 2. Later in the action, the Lynx put together a 5-0 flurry that included two aces from sophomore Alawnah Dunda (Fort Anne, N.Y.) to increase the lead to 10-5 before the Tigers answered with an 11-1 response to surge ahead, 16-11 and hold on for a 25-16 win.
• The sides traded points to a 4-4 score in set 3 following an Abbie Price (Waco, Texas) kill before SUNY took the lead for good, battling for the sweep in a 25-18 final.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

• Junior Shea Thomas (Clayton, N.C.) recorded five kills and five digs for the Lynx in the loss. Korinne Hall-Johnson (North Brunswick, N.J.) added a team-high 10 digs while Mariah Febo (Boston, Mass.) dished out 11 assists.
• Hinze led the way for the Tigers with 12 digs, nine kills, five aces and a block.
